Rugby 7sis a fast-paced version of traditional rugby that's played with seven players on each side, instead of the usual fifteen. Each match is just seven minutes per half, meaning speed, agility and strategy take center stage.
We are incredibly lucky to have former Black Fern captain Eloise Blackwell coaching our Epsom 7's side. With one senior team, selection is highly competitive!
Epsom Girls Grammar School has a proud tradition of excellence in Rugby Sevens, with our senior team qualifying for the Condors National Secondary Schools Sevens for the past four consecutive years since the tournament’s return after COVID.
In 2025, our senior team achieved an outstanding result, finishing 2nd in Auckland to secure qualification for the Condors Nationals at Mt Maunganui in late November.
This year also marked an exciting milestone for the programme, with EGGS fielding a Year 9 & 10 Sevens team for the first time.
The continued growth and success of EGGS Sevens reflects the dedication of our players, the leadership of Eloise, and the strength of the rugby culture at the school.
