Deans

You might never have talked to your dean before - now might be a time you feel like you need a bit more support. Deans are there to support your overall connection with your teachers and your learning. We can also figure out if other support could be useful like talking to counsellors or careers. You can contact us about just about anything but here are some examples of the things we can help with:

Feeling overwhelmed - how to prioritise your subjects or tasks, how much you need to get done, how well you can focus on any of this right now.
Need help with IT - issues with connectivity or government support to gain a device (try helpdesk@eggs.school.nz)
Still struggling with how to manage the tasks set on line and how to communicate with your teacher about that

At EGGS we have 2 Deans who oversee each year level and one International Dean. Our role is to oversee all students in our year level , especially around well being, participation, engagement and achievement. We also liaise with parents and teachers, as our aim is for us all to work as a team to help support your journey here.

We want to establish a relationship with you so that we can identify issues and things that may get in the way of your learning. This may involve

Monitoring your attendance
Communicating with you, your parents and teachers around your learning, achievement and behaviour
Support you in choosing and reviewing your options
Support you in navigating through issues you may be experiencing with your friends, teacher or other significant issues
Support you with transitioning to University, courses, jobs or life beyond school.
