Indian Group

This is a very large and traditional group that includes performers and supporters.  Each group performs traditional and modern pieces.  Performances include the ASB Polyfest and Fia Fia night.  As well as this, we have many performances throughout the year which are insights into the rich and colorful traditions of India.

Indian Group aims to showcase not only Bollywood dance but instead allow people to understand different cultures within India. Over Term 1, the students audition and are selected for one of the dances to learn, rehearse and perform with that year. Indian Group doesn’t rely on sponsors for the groups’ expenses such as the costumes and instead makes their money through the group’s athletic day stall by selling food, beverages and offering the service of henna designs.
