Learning Centre 

The Learning Centre is a hub for a wide range of students. The Centre liaises with other departments to
enhance learning opportunities for junior and senior students and to support inclusion throughout the school.

The Learning Centre provides extension and acceleration opportunities for students seeking further challenge in their learning. Through programs within school such as Philosophy, community groups and external providers, we aim to offer enriching experiences that meet the wide range of needs for our excelling learners.

Philosophy Programme

The Year 9 - 11 Philosophy Programme fosters both breadth and depth of creative and critical thinking. Students work collaboratively on a large variety of fun activities that encourage idea development. and thinking for themselves. The programme provides useful tools for other subjects and for life as a citizen of the work.


Study Programme 

Gifted and Talented Programme

The purpose of this programme is to provide enriched learning opportunities for students with the potential to excel, but also to develop strategies and thinking skills that will help foster students’ curiosity and encourage lifelong learning. From twice exceptional learners (2E) to talented sportswomen, future leaders and academically gifted students, the focus is to identify and support their needs as individual learners in an inclusive and rich learning environment.


The coordinator works collaboratively with staff, students and whanau so that the diverse needs of the Gifted and Talented cohort are met. Students are provided with opportunities to excel and grow socially and academically.
