EGGS has a proud tradition of chamber music, with many students participating in the NZCT Chamber Music contest in June. Instrumentalists and classical singers are encouraged to participate. There are no auditions, but experience at a Grade 5 level would be greatly beneficial.
EGGS Contemporary Music gives students the opportunity to form their own bands. These bands are encouraged to enter Smokefree RockQuest. Epsom Contemporary Music also gives students the opportunity to write and record original songs to enter in the Play It Strange competition, for the chance to have their song professionally recorded. There are no auditions, but prior experience playing an instrument or singing is beneficial for your experience.
Contemporary Music is led by one of our Music teachers, Mr van der Maas.
