WELCOME TO SPORT AT EPSOM GIRLS GRAMMAR SCHOOL

At EGGS, our sports programme provides an inclusive, diverse, and safe space, where students are able to be confident, active, resilient learners in a sports realm. Our EGGS sports community encourages students to learn new skills, be part of a community, develop leadership skills, and to develop a sense of belonging. 

Sport at EGGS honours Te Tiriti o Waitangi and upholds these principals in all we do. As a department we are continuously learning to better ourselves, our knowledge, and our programme to provide the best experience possible for all rangatahi at EGGS.

The school has a philosophy of providing many sporting and recreational opportunities. We offer over 40 different sporting codes. You have the opportunity to participate socially in your spare time, and/or enter into competitions for all grades, from elite teams who compete at the highest level through to social grade teams. 

Sport at EGGS is accompanied by the Sports Committee which includes Sports Prefects and Code Captains. These students are all here to support your sport journey through school, and to pave a way for our future EGGS leaders!

Sport plays an important role in the life of the school and this is strongly supported by our Senior Management Team, support staff, teachers, parents/caregivers and other wider community.

We encourage students to become not only participants in their chosen sports but to also get involved as coaches, umpires or administrators. We also welcome parents/caregivers contribution in all areas of our sports programme.  If you can help with coaching, managing, or umpiring, we would love to hear from you.
