Career Central
The online career development tool Career Central is used throughout the school to support students’ career planning. Students can access this easy to use programme using their Kamar username and password.
This programme is also used in Year 10,11 and 12 Health classes.
Career Central is a comprehensive tool that takes students through the important steps of self knowledge, through to recommending subjects, tertiary pathways (if needed) and career suggestions.
Option Selection Information
Option Selection Information can be found here in the Career Education Pathways booklet 2025.
It is recommended that you refer to this booklet when choosing subjects for the following year at EGGS. Please also see each University website for specific entry requirement information.
The Career Education Pathways booklet shown to the right, shows both Required subjects and Recommended subjects.
Recommended subjects are just that, and are not pre-requisites. They may help prepare a student for a course of study but you should not feel bound by them.
However a Required subject is just that.
Please note that there are not many degrees that have subject requirements, the main exceptions being Engineering, or Health Sciences at the University of Auckland. To find out more about required and recommended subjects, click on the links below.
