Sport at EGGS is about more than winning — it's about growing as individuals and teams. This Code sets out the expectations for all students involved in sport:
Together, we uphold our values and represent the mana of our school community with pride.
Abide by the Epsom Girls Grammar School Student Rules at all times.
Treat teammates, coaches, volunteers, opponents, officials, and supporters with respect, upholding the reputation of the school and demonstrating good sportsmanship on and off the field.
Use appropriate language and behaviour in all forms of communication, including but not limited to text, email and social media.
Wear the Epsom sports uniform correctly and with pride.
Respect and care for equipment and facilities.
Attend all meetings, training, games and competitions. Signing up to a sport means committing for the full season.
Turn up on time with the equipment needed.
Notify the coach, manager or TIC when injured. Injured players will still be expected to attend and participate in a modified training session.
Always put in your best effort and maintain a positive attitude.
Celebrate diversity and welcome teammates of all levels, ages and backgrounds.
Be an active member of your sport, encouraging others, celebrating success, and uplifting team morale.
Ensure that the interests of the team as a whole is your priority.
Stand up against bullying, exclusion, or poor sportsmanship, and report any unacceptable behaviour to the Sports Coordinator, TIC or Coach..
It is expected that all students abide by the Epsom Girls Grammar School Sport Code of Conduct at all times. Disciplinary matters will be managed in accordance with the EGGS Disciplinary Procedure and Complaints Policy, and fall into two categories:
Minor: unexplained non-attendance at or repeated lateness to training, disrespecting teammates/coaches/parent volunteers, and unsportsmanlike behaviour
Major: vaping, drugs, alcohol, digital media abuse, recurrent bullying and discrimination, repeated breaches of the sport code of conduct.
Minor breaches of this Code of Conduct will be managed by the Head Coach in conjunction with the relevant EGGS Sport Coordinator. Consequences may include, but are not limited to, being stood down from games/races and/or competitions.
Consequences for major breaches will be decided and managed by Head Coach and EGGS
Director of Sport. In the case of a major breach, students may be stood down for the remainder of the season.
