Epsom Girls Grammar School is incredibly lucky to have former Black Fern captain and current Auckland Blues legend, Eloise Blackwell leading our rugby programme. Eloise with her world-class experience, provides top-tier coaching to our 1st XV team and serves as an inspiring mentor for our young athletes both on and off the field.
Rugby at EGGS runs across Terms 2 and 3, with teams competing in the Auckland Girls Rugby Competition. EGGS has a strong tradition of success, regularly featuring in semi-finals.
In 2025, we had 10 EGGS rugby players selected in Auckland representative teams, a reflection of the quality and depth within our rugby programme.
Whether you’re an experienced player or just starting out, EGGS Rugby offers a supportive environment where every athlete can develop their skills and love for the game.

Auckland Girls Rugby Season
Term 2 - Term 3
All year levels are able to trial for the 1st XV squad
Trainings: Epsom Girls Grammar Fields - up to 4 trainings per week.
Games: Mondays, 4pm at various Auckland locations
Fees
The season fee is approx. $80 - $100 but will be confirmed once team numbers are confirmed.
Entry into additional tournaments will be charged separately
Uniform & Equipment Required
1st XV players will be given an Epsom Girls Grammar School Rugby Jersey. Students will need to buy their own blue rugby shorts, black socks, boots and mouth guard.
