Curling is an ice sport that is growing in popularity, capturing the interest of many with their vibrant fun culture and impressive results throughout the season. Curling emphasises sportsmanship and camaraderie. On the ice, students learn about teamwork, technique and strategic thinking... and a bit of physics! Curling is an inclusive sport that welcomes students with different physical abilities including wheelchair users and vision or hearing impaired students. Everyone is welcome!
In 2024, Epsom Curling had a record four teams competing in the Term 2-Term 3 Auckland Secondary Schools Competition, and our teams took out first, second and third place at the North Island Secondary Schools Competition during Winter Tournament Week. Following an incredibly successful season, two of our players have also been selected to represent New Zealand at the 2024 Junior B World Championships. This continues a long history of EGGS curlers going on to represent New Zealand internationally.
We are lucky to have an incredibly talented coach, Pauline Farra, who is unwavering in her dedication to Epsom Curling. If you're looking for a way to develop new skills, have a lot of fun, and open doors to experiences you never thought possible, maybe it's time to give Curling a go!
