Volleyball
Volleyball is a dynamic and exciting team sport where two teams of six players each compete to score points by sending the ball over a net and into the opponent’s court. The game combines skill, strategy, and athleticism, with each team allowed a maximum of three touches to return the ball, often involving precise serves, powerful spikes, and agile digs. At EGGS, students have the option to enter into a social grade or participate competitively in our A or B Teams.

Term 1 & Term 4
TERM 4: Junior Central/West Zone Competition
Yr 9 & 10 only
Training to be held in the Epsom Girls Grammar Stadium at the following times.
Junior A: Tuesday mornings, 6am – 8am. Coached by Diego Quinteros
Junior B & Junior C: Tuesday and Friday 3.30pm -5pm.
Games: Thursday afternoons, 4pm-6.30pm at various Auckland schools
Volleyball Premier Season (Senior)
Pre-season training starts Term 4
Competition: Term 1, February 2025
Games played on Wednesday or Thursday afternoons at various Auckland Secondary Schools
Major Tournaments
NZ Secondary Schools Volleyball Championships
March 2025
Fees
Fees vary depending on whether student is competing in the social or more expensive competitive grade: $40-$100 per season. This fee covers equipment, first aid, coaching resources and transport.
Additional charges apply for entry into regional and national tournaments.
Uniform & Equipment Required
The Senior A Team is provided with an Epsom long sleeve top and blue shorts. All other teams will need to purchase an Epsom Singlet from the School Uniform Shop and wear this with Blue or Black shorts.
It is preferable to wear kneepads if you have them
