Lifesaving is a course dedicated to water safety and drowning prevention in Aotearoa New Zealand. The course will teach you comprehensive lifesaving skills and first aid techniques (such as CPR) to promote safety in and around the water. The Royal Lifesaving Society of New Zealand has been instructing for over 110 years and many of the skills you will learn throughout the course will be transferable to everyday life.
Key Dates & Information
The Epsom Girls Grammar Lifesaving team trains at lunchtime on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays during Terms 2 and 3, making use of our onsite Aquatic Centre
Students are able to work towards the following awards;
Lifesaving Instructors Award
Lifesaving Bronze Star Award
Lifesaving Bronze Medallion Award
Lifesaving Bronze Cross Award
Lifesaving Award of Merit
Fees
Approximately $50 - $80 depending on grade level
Uniform & Equipment Required
Togs & Epsom PE Gear. Goggles are optional.
